How do you separate sfw from nsfw exactly? Do you just save it as sfw first, (keeping layers) and then go back to add stuff to different layers, like erase the lineart where his crotch is to draw a peen, etc., color the rest in the color layer??

I do it almost the way you've described. I make a sfw version of an artwork, copy it and then i draw everything nsfw above the character. I don't know if there is an easier way to do it, but this is my way.
