The rear end of a CSX mainline freight blows by the beginning of an interesting spur line at Sinks, Kentucky.
This very steep ramp of track feds down into a rickety spur track which follows next to the pictured gravel road for about a quarter mile where it ends at the load out for a very large abandoned quarry operation.
Up until 2008 this spur was active with a CSX local hauling covered hoppers loaded with small stone out of the Hanson Quarry Company operation here until it was apparently abandoned sometime after the 2008 economic crash.
