My pride and joy--as of yet, at least.
This was a pretty significant project--my largest yet--which I finished last December in a high school art class. Got a high-contrast self-portrait, screwed with the colors in Photoshop for a while until I got something that looked like this. Sketched it out on black paper, then colored it with chalk pastel. It ended up taking me a few weeks from start to finish--the whole thing's somewhere around 2x3', I think (well, pretty big at any rate, I don't know the dimensions).
Honestly, right now I'm starting to lean more towards digital art; I just bought a tablet yesterday and I've been itching to try it out. (Not to mention that art supplies can get pretty expensive...) But I really liked doing this. Chalk pastel is a really fun medium to work with, and black paper's always cool, too. If I ever get serious about traditional, I'm definitely sticking with this sort of thing.
