Deviating from uploading the mouldy oldies once again, to present the latest, a collaboration... sorta. J.R. please forgive me for taking liberties in calling it that, since you credited me as progenitor in its being "based on a suggestion and outline from Sakana Katana!" on your FA page for this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17418311/ as do I hope you don't mind my listing it in this gallery. This would also be my first musical (albeit spoken word) submission.
NOT DONE BY ME -- I've seen collaborations, commissions and gift art before on FA & DA in recipients' accounts, so am privileged to include this one in mine.
J.R. (that's short for Jakrabbit or Jackrabbit, spelling dependent on the show date for the FPS credits cast studio crawl) is the puppeteer who generally has his hands up the arses of Folkmanis puppets Poink T. Weasel and Hughbert T. Manatee (they put the "T" in "The") on FPS, the Funday PawPet Show http://www.pawpet.tv/watch .
You see, J.R. is an aspiring stand-up comedian who, besides performing as such at furry cons and releasing CDs & DVDs, has a podcast, the almost-epononymously-named "PoinkCast." These can be found at http://poink.furryhost.com and on iTunes as https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/poinkcast!/id480489166?mt=2.
In one of his PoinkCasts (Mailbag #1) he foolishly stated: "Feel free to send in any questions... the questions can be about anything... " Wow, did THAT leave him open.
Soooo... I sent the following:
"You haven't released a PoinkCast in a while so, here's an idea in the form of a Mailbag question you might answer:
[ You've covered the Origin Story, as any tiresome DC or Marvel movie might, of the creation of Poink, but what dark secrets lie behind the making of that International MANatee of Mystery, Hubert T.?
How did he begin, where did the puppet come from; what was the origin of his name; how did he get that voice and, most importantly: which is his favourite "My Little Pony"? ]
(P.S. This part is outside my question and deals with a production idea, if you have Hugh say "Sakaaaanaaaa Kataaaanaaaa" in that drawn-out manner that gets Herbie whupped, you can unleash the full potential of your Foley effects & Wilhelm screams with the sounds of Yappy making a seacow even more endangered by beatin' the shit out of him. "Oh, forlorn moo!")"
To which he responded:
"It's a good idea. I'll put it on the list.
Should be a new one this weekend. It's not for lack of ideas; just finished up some work on my live dvd and some work stuff"
And that was that... FOR 5 MONTHS!
Now, he's just released THIS on Funday Aug 16, '15 (that you can also listen to here through my gallery) to rave reviews in the IRC Channel during "Radio Unifurse" http://www.livestream.com/radiounifurse , "The Rabbit Hole" https://furstre.am/stream/RabbitHole and Doggy Radio http://radio.boomerthedog.net/ .
At this point, I was thinking that it would be entitled "Mailbag #3" because a survey of his oeuvre stopped at #2. He later explained this as: "Mailbag #3 is, unofficially, the episode "Bent A Flipper." I stopped asking for questions because there wasn't a huge response to them; they are some of the least downloaded. I'll still do them, but I may make that part of the website once I finish revamping it." Which a listening-to will confirm.
So, mine IS Mailbag #4 after all. Of it, I revealed to him that in IRC http://www.pawpet.tv/chat_room "Channel chat last night, upon peeps linking to it, said it was funny but too short." (Make dick joke here.) And that, "I too, had hoped you'd give it the same treatment as the Poink's Name one: Mailbag #1. Really should have hinted in that initial email that you talk with Erika to refresh your recollection of events to flesh-out his actual Origin Story." Turns out, he responded, "The story about the puppet & Erika is part of the live DVD that's coming up, and I try to give those enough original material so people don't feel shorted buying something they can get for free." Likewise *I'm* NOT going to reveal even a hint of those details here, per his example so -- buy his DVD.
As for the brevity (The Soul of Wit notwithstanding) a follow-up email revealed:
"Thanks for the feedback; glad people seemed to like it, even if short. There were reasons I did it this way.
Some of the cast of the show have asked for a PoinkCast to run prior to Funday Pawpet Show, but we haven't had one we could use since the subjects go in very dark directions. I wanted to keep this one clean & short so I have one for the FPS fans. Some of my subscribers aren't familiar with Funday so wouldn't get the inside jokes about Yappy & your name. This one is aimed more at regular viewers of FPS. I'll probably change the rating on FA.
...Again, thanks for the idea!

So, expect to hear it pre-show soon, maybe during "YapTV" (same PawPet URL, same PawPet Channel, only for an hour before showtime) or adjacent to Cerberus's excellent pre-opening animation, some Funday near you.
(Note: *I'm* not keeping it marked as his original Mature rating here; even though you don't know how well that increases the lookie-loo hit count. He's since dropped it to General Audience, as he said, so it fits the FPS's rating.)
I did mention, once in email and then in Channel, that if he'd like me to directly collaborate on the script, to speed up the creative process, I'd gladly contribute. (That's part of what makes me "high-maintenance" after all.) He responded live on FPS that the podcast was "in the can" and would be released weekend next.

Poink -- Right you are ol' blubber-butt. As I was saying, a participant in our chatroom, Saka... ah... a long-time show viewer.
