FURSUITBODY
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the body of the fursuit.
How satisfied are you with how the body fits?
Is it comfortable to wear? Does it allow for good movement?
I commissioned Faris for legs and feet. I have worked with her before and liked her communication a lot. This was my first time making any sort of DTD and due to incoming hurricanes, the only duct tape left in the store was weird patterns. Faris made it work somehow.
The legs fit really great. Very snug, form fitting, just as it should. One of the ankles was smaller than the other but that is probably because my DTD was the same way (accidentally taped one side a little tight). It stretched out enough over time that it wasn't a huge deal.
One thing was that, in the crotch area, there was no padding at all so it looked kind of weird and saggy. Not hugely noticeable, but it was bothering me personally so I made 2 extra foam pads for that part to even it out. The rest of the legs were awesome, though. They're REALLY comfortable!
How is the quality and durability of the body?
Are the seams durable? Can you move without popping seams?
The durability of the legs and feet is fine except one thing: there are two particular belt loops inside the pants/legs that keep coming off. All the belt loops are hot glued, which is... Whatever works I guess, but these particular two keep snapping every so often. It gets annoying sometimes.
I wear a belt and suspenders with the pants. I mean, they definitely won't fall off me if I don't wear those since the fit is good, but because of the way my fursuit was designed (I have a shirt for the top half, basically) a little sag can ruin the whole look of it. So it is pretty important that the pants stay as high up as possible. It's difficult to do with the belt loops snapping. But only these two in the back. Why??
How satisfied are you with the selection of colors and the material used?
I provided the fursuit colors, and they were awesome! x3
HANDS AND FEET
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the body of the fursuit.
How satisfied are you with the fit of the hands and feet?
Will your wrists/ankles show if you stretch too much? Do they stay on your hands or do they slide off? Can you put them on comfortably with ease?
The feet are super comfortable! I don't think I provided my own shoes for this... Anyway it was surprising because I had bought feetpaws from Faris before, and they were not as nearly good fitting as these.
How is the quality of the hands and feet? Are you satisfied with the materials used?
Have seams popped? Have paw pads or claws fallen off?
All good. =)
GENERALVISUAL ASPECTS
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with visual aspects associated with the fursuit.
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
Extremely satisfied!
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
When I first got the legs and feet, Faris had made the legs the exact length they needed to be. There was no overlap between them and the feet. Because of that, if I moved too much or stood a certain way, you could tell where the hole in the feetpaws was. I didn't like it, so I mentioned it to her.
She sent me some extra fur and gave me pictures of how to sew it on to make it work. I had also complained about one of the ankles being too tight and she gave me photo tutorials on how to extend that, too. She was VERY helpful.
I am absolute shit at sewing so her taking these extra steps so I didn't screw up my suit with these simple alterations helped me a lot. It was above and beyond what I expected.
She had also forgotten the tail hole on the pants... She said all I had to do was cut it with a razorblade. I didn't think that would work because I was worried about the seam running like stockings. She said it would be fine and the tail is pretty heavy in that hole (it's lower than the belt loops, so no support on its own) and she was right. That hole has not moved.
COMMUNICATION
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with all the aspects of communication between you and the maker.
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very satisfied. She gets back within a few days.
I was pretty much a frequent customer of this point (which got that way BECAUSE of her communication and excellent customer service!) so I knew what I was expecting going in. =)
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Very.
How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
Were they pleasant to work with?
I was a little annoyed that she forgot the tail hole and there was no overlap between the legs and the feet, but she was VERY QUICK to help me out on both fronts, providing the fur and the tutorials and shipping it out so I could fix it myself.
So she made up for her mistakes.
OVERALL
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with your overall experience with the maker and the fursuit itself.
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
N/A
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Very satisfied!
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?
Very few compare to Faris.
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Faris does some things (or doesn't do some things, I should say) that make me question what's going on with her process, but her customer service, quick turnaround time, and fair prices more than make up for it and that's why I kept going back to her.
I own(ed) these and 2 other partials from her and had been working with her on various other stuff for at least a year continuously.
FINAL SCOREPlease pick a score that you feel honestly reflects your commissioning experience as a whole, including the quality of your item(s), the appearance, and how you were treated by the maker.
Positive. Product had some flaws but her communication, turnaround time, and customer service more than make up for it.
