This is part of a series of posts i plan on doing up on backup solutions
their not meant to be definitive guides, as more starting points and advice on how to build a backup solution for your own work. which i believe is necessary for anyone wishing to work professionally as a digital artist of any sort of medium
this post in particular is going to focus on my personal set up. showing how it came to be and how it largely works.
Orginally was going to be posted as a journal, but this one did get a little too big (nearly 3 pages long)
~I will be reposting my first backup solution journal as a bit of writing, so it can be faved and downloaded

well i have ended up with a lot of computer parts over the years
so some of this was "i have the parts, and i'd hate to lose everything i hold dear" and another part was "well lets see if i can practice what most preach"
as stated, my backup solution is probably overkill for the individual, but for a professional, its about where i would start,
i mean, its not necessary, if you think you can recreate your work easily, but i personally don't believe i can

What i dislike is when people do have some form of backup solution, but they forget to use it
just cause of silly things like "we just get too busy"
my reply has always been "and if you lose everything from the last month, how busy will you be trying to replace that work?"
and honestly, it really isn't that hard to automate, with things like NAS and servers being as prevalent as they are, its as simple as configuring a few programs, heck a few NAS drives i own have backup software as part of their firmware
