DRIVER’S COURSE
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
An Unimog without its wheels, standing on some supports, is a humorous sight - it’s almost like a hovercar.
Kinda. I dunno, it amused me.
As one might conclude from the insubstantial imagery, there was nothing of worth to mention in this week. I’ll be frank, if I hadn’t painted myself into a corner by having this be a week-by-week thing then there are quite a few weeks that would have been skipped. But, alas, a commitment is a commitment.
I mentioned the loose and unstructured curriculum of a driver’s course in Week 14, but this is just silly. It’s a pretty big organizational failure, since there’s nobody with the time or interest to train our platoon (partially because squad leader training is also going on currently that’s robbing all the attention), so we just sit on our butts all day and occasionally go do some menial jobs around the battalion. Go take the wheels on that vehicle. Go check the camo nets on that truck. Go check if the wipers on all vehicles are still working. Go check the trucks’s windshields for cracks. Go clean that garage. Go park around those cars (literally swapping their positions). Go refuel that truck. Go…do…something…somewhere.
Training? What training? Everybody in the battalion is too busy to organize any training for us drivers and the driving school organizing our studies is moving at a glacial pace. We haven’t even gotten a schedule for our CE licence lessons or even any sort of indication that anybody even remembers we’re supposed to get one.
…I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting that CE licence after all. Not with how “fast” things move around here….
