That's what I have seen cats do in RL. When I lived in a farm house. We had a lot of cats. They like to play with their prey. I had a cat that liked me and also would take me hunting with him. By nature a cat is a cold blooded killer. I have seen prey panic and scream before the cat killed it to have some fresh meat.

I am one that do not torture

I don't want to do that either right now in RL. I have even seen a momma cat bring back a large kill and give it to an adult youngster of hers. I don't know what the deal was between these two. Once upon a time YOU couldn't get me to want a dog. Till my sister got a mix female beagle. While I was away at school in another state. I was only acting like a cat to show you the flip side of their nature. Like I told you. I been a furry before they invented it on the internet. I don't have the same nature as cats do. They will bite their prey in such away so it is alive to play with or dead sometimes. MEOOOOOW!

Animals are like individuals. But by nature they are a certain way as dogs are. I like a domestic dog. A hybrid wolf dog is not for me. What dogs do for mankind is amazing. They are pure in heart. I'm sure that Randy was amazing. I wish I could have met him.
