I think this kind of style is very good - it's personal and warm. I can't help but wonder how awesome this would look if it were done in watercolor...

Anyway. The only thing I can think to say is that the lighting seems a little mild. While the shadows are all there, they could all be much darker.

As far as the background goes, I think you did very well. While details are not present, all the shapes are well placed. All it seems to need is a little more attention - texture on the bark and moss, what have you. The mushrooms are great, and the hills in the far background have great depth. I think you did wonderfully, both in the background and in the character!

I have no idea about the right terms and no idea how to explain this intelligently but I love how some of the lineart is really strong and stands out whilst some are so soft and blend into the rest of the image. Just makes it look all enchanting and lovely.

That jacket and that face, so cute D:! For some reason, this reminds me of Ms. Birsby more than some of Beatrix Potter's stuff, I think it's the style you coloured it.
