Gemshines are Horses, Donkeys, Ponies, or other Equine creatures with the following characteristics;

An object (Organic, elemental, or man-made) is embedded in either the creature's chest, belly, back, or flank. (UNLISTED ON REFERENCE SHEET:

Uncommon: Embedded in the cheek or on the hooves as separate gems.

Rare: Embedded along the spine, embedded on the tip of the ears, or embedded on the snout.

Legendary; Embedded in the forehead where a third eye or horn would be located, or embedded as the eyes.)

Gemshines get their energy from their embedded objects which act as the creature's heart/stomach. They absorb energy from light and air through their objects. However this provides only a little bit of energy, and they still have to eat. Some Gemshines have food instead of an object, they are Auction Only but they gain energy by eating themselves instead of absorbing things around them.

A gemshine will die if it's object is broken beyond repair.

Gemshines, unlike real Equines, have a high intelligence and can live almost forever as long as they are unharmed. Another differentiation from Equines of the reality we live in is that Gemshines are born from the objects that they have embedded in their body. Gemshines also have bones made up of the primary molecular makeup of their object. They also have strange, lightly scented, glittering fur. Gemshines are extremely vulnerable in heavily heated areas, when exposed to heat Gemshines objects will become gooey and droopy. This has no ill effects on the Gemshine.

Gemshines are a CLOSED SPECIES.

(Horses with gems on them are not automatically Gemshines unless they are placed specifically on the chest, belly, or flank. A gemshine does not have a 'Cutie Mark' and are not MLP related. Gemshines ALWAYS sparkle. Gemshines hooves are always made of their object, or of a gem-like substance.)
