I stepped on a large piece of glass near a dumpster on Sunday. I lost a lot of blood, almost died.

I'm not exaggerating. I left a trail a couple of hundred feet long limping back to my apartment. My bathroom looked like a color version of that old movie 'Psycho'.

I've learned two things from the experience (three, if you count never going shoeless outside).

First, life can change in an instant. Second, vanity is the worst bullshit I've ever known in my life. When you see that much of your blood everything else means nothing.

I've often felt the fool with drunken submissions...now...well, nothing matters except that I'm alive to make mistakes. Don't ever forget how lucky you are to even be breathing.
