The tyranids are known for being perfect adaptors due to their genetic make up, and it seems this warrior has acidentally suffered some sort of mutation, it has developed the ability to loosen up its exoskeleton to allow it to swallow its prey whole! For those times where they need to dispose of their prey quick and silent!
Must be pretty painful with the exo skeleton cracking like that, not the case though when its held with cartilage which is designed to split apart, resealing when that stomach isn't descended and round with prey, just one more reason to rear the Tyranids...
