This fiery little rondo capped off the opening piece to my Master's recital. I heard after the fact that several people in the audience that night thought I took the piece too fast. Still others were on the edge of their seats thinking that I would come crashing to a halt at the next bar. I chose the speed with great care. I had practiced it at up to 180 bpm, the performance was somewhere around 158 and thus was well under cotnrol. The left handed octave tremallo in the closing theme was my limiting factor in determining the speed. The object was to create a fun frolic -while still maintaining the details and leggiero touch written into the work.
