Actually these two are just part of a herd of about 30 that I saw today in Wind Cave NP.

Antelope aren't common anywhere anymore. I saw a HUGE herd of bison a ways up the road too. They were too close to the road and the forest service had some cowboys out there on horses, wearing chaps and stuff and with big bull-whips trying to herd them away from the hundreds of bikers who had stopped and were standing WAY too close to them to take their pictures. What a job that would be though! A bison herding cowboy for the forest service. Talk about the wild west!
They seemed to be enjoying themselves. I bet they make fair money but not great. The guy who led our cave tour said they considered him a volunteer but gave him food and free housing while he worked for the summer. Then in fall he goes back to college after his master's.
