For the record, I've got reservations about Transformers: Combiner Wars.
But I'm intrigued by what I've read on Cyclonus- His combiner form is called Galvatronus, and sure looks like G1 Galvatron.
What if, this Galvatronus is like Megatron's brain in TF4'? Where a lifeless Decepticon brain infects a new body, like a virus, takeing it over. Only this time, Galvatron's brain is inside his Most loyal warrior, Cyclonus, like a parasite. Takeing over- reborn when combiner mode is achieved!
Also, it says that Galvatronus doesn't have a combiner team, per say- he instead uses mind-control to take over other bots, and force them to combine. Imagine a Decepticon leader built out of Hostages! What could Prime do against that? It also implies that these are Mighty-Orbots style combiners- which is my way of saying that the special abilities of each bot is amplified and distributed thru the entire Combiner.
-in theory, you could get a Gestalt with Sunstreakers electrical blasts, Breakdown's EMP wave, Trailbreaker's forcefields, and Rook's heavy armor. Mix and Match superpowers!
*shrug* Might be worth a story, right?
