Still playing with DAZ
I was trying to see how many bodies I could cram in one shot and this is where I am so far ...
Eleven ladies and five chakats, and yes I cheated and moved copies around rather than make eleven different models.
This was done in 4.8 and took 2.5 hours. Still fighting the lighting, either too much or in this case not quite enough ...
(under general for no bare nips or other bits ...)

Really, though, we need to make arrangements for a dedicated chakat model instead of adapting other things. Get the head right, the proportions, the morphs for individualizing, a texture map to allow custom coats...
I'd say five models and one add-on morph package.
1) Adult chakat for up close images, able to be morphed from puberty to longtail.
2) Low-poly adult chakat for distant placement.
3) Cub chakat, able to be morphed from toddler to pre-puberty teen.
4) Low-poly cub.
5) Newborn chakat. (The low-poly cub stands in for newborns at a distance.)
Special add-on) Adult features. Tongue, claws, genitals, nipples.
Make the low-polys available for free. A nominal fee for the closeup versions. And a larger fee for the adult features. All done with Goldfur's permission, of course.

This is the free basic chakat (that needs you to buy the DAZ big cats) that's on the web. While it's rigged okay for basic movement, there are no options for say making the arms more muscular.
I think I can use Little Dragon's free Furrette and Furraldo for Caitians, the rest will be trickier.
From what I've seen/heard, Getting someone (good at it) to 'rig' and 'skin' a figure can cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars -- more if you want to be able to morph it between critters.
I'm looking around for more options (and I'll have another 'pic' out in a bit! )
