High hood EMD GP9, 1750 HP, You were riding in a semi? Lucky find, just rode behind a MLW ex Alco design C420 on the Oil City & Titusville RR in Titusville PA. I'm working at the GE diesel engine plant in Grove City PA, doing inspections on their Tier 4 EVO engines. Talk about big, engine block is about 15-20 ft long but the 16 cylinder FDL block is 20-25 ft long. Love working here, since I love trains.
Pawsome and the reason for the small fuel tank was it was for switching and pulling railcars around the Clearing Industrail park. They had also had an mixture of Baby GE Uboats , and Alcos. They mostly now use GM EMD SW1500s and Corn Products Corp / Argo Corn Starch has an fleet of older Beltway Company Of Chicago switchers which they use for switching around in the factory. They kept them in Beltway Company Of Chicago paint and Spelled out Corn Products across the sides of them. =^.^=
