Awesome! Not so awesome that Java is used instead of Flash. I understand that the entire industry is trying to use one screw-up as an excuse to choke Flash to death, but... for the love of God, keep it in flash. Java is and has always been 100x more insecure. :(

Java? Where? All I saw in the page source was JavaScript and Ogg Vorbis.

The file requires Java to operate. You probably didn't realize because you aren't using a mobile. And yeah JavaScript runs on Java.

JavaScript and Java are two unrelated technologies (ECMA bought the rights for the name because of SUN's ad campaign, long story). Most browsers support JavaScript natively and require a separate plug-in for Java. It's possible that some browsers use something Java-based for Ogg Vorbis, but that's just the music file. Which browser do you use? Firefox 39 does not start Java for this page, and I don't think Chromium would.

IDK, whatever came preinstalled on my device that has only ever been labelled "web".

And what is the operating system? If it's Android, "Web" probably is a cut-down version of Chromium. No saying what was thrown away. If it's a Microsoft OS, Ogg wasn't supported last time I checked. I don't know about Apple, probably same as Microsoft.
