What if, it turned out, Freddy and the gang were just baby sitters, watching Mark's character in the game...
And they were just checking up on Mark essentially, but were frustrated to see him still up at night, making so much sounds with that flash light of his, stumping around the room like a mad-man.
But hey, it's just a theory, a GA...never mind.
