Doodles - Kelia
Tried to get a bunch of doodles done in a shorter amount of time after we noticed yesterday that my work speed has decreased dramatically over the past months (hell, I used to finish 2-3 patron sketches per stream, now I can barely finish ONE in 4-9 hours?)
I’m almost ready to assume that the fault lies in my tools and their settings slowing down the process, including such issues as too much line correction (slower strokes), pressure settings and too much cleaning and tool switching.
So I copied my normal sketch pen and removed some of the settings, lowered correction, disabled brush density gap control and lowered density to compensate. And, quite importantly, I ensured I would not switch to other tools, nor use extra layers, to draw the hair or clothing. Everything on the same layer, if you make mistakes you can undo, no need to mask one layer and work on another, etc. I ended up drawing these bust/headshots rather quickly, but still not back to my former speed. Need more speed-practices. So when I come back home in a few days after acquiring my new passport, I will try to get the coloring process optimized, to shave off a bit of time there as well.
