Surprise!
Ok, so I figured that I had to post on-the-day, so that'll be the post for this week. It's actually ironic, given the time that Ray left Achievement Hunter, leaving a small hole in the office. Well, there's two holes, but the other one is for Edgar.
Anyway, YES, I have played a little minecraft. Haven't been able to do too too much with it just yet, as I have other games that are taking my attention now and in the future. But I got the game on the sole entertainment I got from watching Achievement Hunter vids (you can learn a little Nintendo, advertizing in Let's Plays CAN work teh heh).
While I was highly annoyed that some skins are locked till you sign in with your PSN account (Disc Locked Content anyone...), but I wasn't going to get in all with it, so just went with the norms.
For irony's sake, I went for the knight skin. Tah! Do my bidding knight, I am your dragon master muhahahahaha!
To be honest, I'm sure there are a lot of people, like myself, that see the appeal of making a some-what career of playing video games. It almost seems like a dream come true for some people. You get paid to PLAY games. How awesome is THAT?
I'm a decent player, better than some. I'm not about to top the charts in MMOs or get the highest kill count in Modern Warfare, but I'm skilled enough to be good at the games I choose to play through.
Would "I" like to be in a job playing video games? Well, sure, I'm sure anybody would say yes to that. But one does wonder what that all entails. It can't possibly be THAT easy right? Sure, maybe you need some techy knowledge for the hardware and software you'll be using, but is there some restriction or something that we don't know about that bars people from it? Or IS it that simple?
Now, as far as Achievement Hunter goes...I've only mainly seen their Minecraft LPs and a couple of their singular LP videos for a few games. I barely touched their RT Life vids (aside from Finger in the Desk), so I'm not sure how it all goes down there.
I think I could match up player-wise, but I don't see myself as an in-office guy much. The amount of vinegar in the room may be a tad much for me, as I'm not really a man's man. I'd probably end up as the next Gavin...albiet without the British target on my back.
The guys seem like a lot of fun, and they're a staple in the video game industry (at least I think so). Maybe it's a little intimidating, thinking you could join this awesome team that's been making all this great stuff for fun and entertainment and making a mint off it. You'd want to join them, to join in that stuff, but it may seem daunting to live up to expectations.
Maybe on day I'll look into it...if I ever get up the nerve...
.....then again I'll probably be Gavin 2.0 as soon as I walk in for the interview for obvious reasons tah.

Reminds me of the time I thought I saw Ray at a local Dairy Queen. Sadly, it was not him.
Heh, I'd love to see you in minecraft, though it might get awkward when you die and don't respawn with your armored Mag...
I've been keeping busy with LP's myself. I doubt I'd be able to fit in with the guys, though I'm always hoping that one day, I can barge into one of their games, get kicked out, and refer to me as another Shadles. In their Trouble in Terrorist Town LP, they played with a guy known as Shadow NZ, who they just called Shadles. Now whenever a random person pops into the servers, they call them Shadles.

Some people have "that face" that makes them seems familiar. Personally, I think Harrison Ford and Dennis Quaid look alid sometimes.
Well I have been doing decent enough. Got myself a village, so many carrots that Bugs Bunny would faint thinking it's heaven, and already have two pet wolves for protection heheh. But I've BARELY explored the world. And with those updates that increased the span of things, needing more maps, it's bewildering with just my small one.
Not exactly armored, that would hurt
Oh yes, heard you've been keeping with that. You actually have decent enough recording software to do it, kudos Hopefully it's going well. Might look into trying it myself sometime
Yeah, I know the fit-in feeling. The guys are great, have weird quirks, but sometimes things get a little over the top. (I'm sure there are RT life vids out there that make us question that )
Or that one guy, CobraGunners It would be cool if AH handed out the "I was Shadles" buttons for people who ended up in their games
