Admittedly, I'm an agnostic on the "planet or not?" question, since to Pluto itself it's rather irrelevant, out there in the Outer Darkness.

What's truly cool is that we actually managed to send a probe to it, and got such pictures back! A triumph of science and engineering.

I'm fine with dwarf planet or Kuiper Belt Object myself.

If my students ever ask me what calculus is good for, I now can answer, "Sending a probe all the way to Pluto and taking pictures of something billions of miles away. Without calculus, they wouldn't have gotten it past the Moon." ^.^
