Mm, there's this fun fan-comic (In Japanese though) with the two main protagonists being a runty Rathalos and a Nargacuga. Though I can't make out most of what's being said (Google Translate is of dubious use, but it's better than nothing!) it's fun enough to look over even without knowing what its saying x3
Omg, the first chapter... The two meet up and get into a sparring fight (two Jaggi just standing back barking at them while they do) and then Nargacuga uses his tail slam attack right as Rathalos readied a fireball... The results were just hilarious ;v;

Oh my god them pictures though, I don't know who to feel worse for. The Rathalos getting his face planted (literally) into the ground, or the Narga getting a burnt butt. xD'

Latest chapter Rathalos gets his head planted into the ground again. Actually feel kinda sorry for the guy - even if he was acting like one of those clueless males that just can't take a hint ("I don't want to talk" means they don't want to talk. Leave the Rathian be already!). Rathy did seem surprised that she couldn't out-fly him, so then she just turned around and did a backflip right into his face.

*ahem* ut yeah.

Far as I can tell, and assuming its not a nickname or something, the Rathalos's name really is 'Beans' in this :B

The very next page after the last I linked to, he actually rants about this. He's mateless right now, and apparently every Rathian he's met has shot him down for being 'too small'.

Beans, though, oh man. That's such a cute name. If MH:Stories comes to the EU/US, I'm totally naming the little Rathalos mount 'Beans' now. xD

At least he's trying though. Even if he does keep getting shot down. ;w; Bless his heart!

*nods* In Chapter 4 he and Narga get into a fight with Deviljho, the fight spanning two chapters. Maybe if a hunter hadn't chased them off (Dung bombs :D) and the two beat him... Maybe then Rathians wouldn't be so quick to judge him by his size..... He also beat Zinogre (Barely; and Narga had been fighting with him earlier before 'los came in so....)


There's a few parts I've gotten down to an extent - between my own (v-e-e-r-y) limited knowledge of Japanese and Gogole Translate. From what it looks like, the Lagiacrus in ch9 is the same one as in the MH3 intro, and I guess he's accusing Rathalos of something.... 'los just denies involvement and leaves (But Lagiacrus has other plans!) x'3

Earlier when 'los was going to head off to fight Deviljho, Narga was just like "Alright good luck~!" before los said he was coming too, then threatened to kick him off the island if he didn't help. Narga bluntly responds "Alright see ya then" - apparently happy with being exiled if it means not fighting Jho. After forcing him into the adventure, "Beans" asks if Narga's scared of Jho before dragging him off (And damn does that panel look adorble <3 http://sta.sh/02b8qcay9zh9

First time? Pretty impressive and of a nargacuga! Green is an interesting color for the cuga and not being all clowey eyed and spikes out of tail to smack me is quite a nice turn of looks.
