OK first off i want to give my strongest appreciation to all those out there who practice Mecha and cybernetics and cyberpunk, because HOLY!@$@ seriously, now this is my first attempt on the concept and i like how it turned out, but damn was it a test of effort and imaginative ingenuity, what liked about sketching mecha is how you not just draw cybernetics but more so build them, making everything symmetrical and functional as well as visually appealing and believable. it was tough but satisfying.
i dont show it but im a fan of cyberpunk and giant robots, witthe exception of the actual anime stuff sorry but some gundam shows are just take themselves way too seriously to be entertaining for me. but the robot concept is sweet.
anyway off topic, this is a Gift to my oldest nephew Stephen, he is nto a furry not woudli care for him to ever know about us. we have enough oddballs as it is.
he is a major fan of dragons and cyborgs. so what better git than to create his fursona as a cybernetic dragon welp. now the reason for his appearance is due to my nephew being wheelchair bound, he was born with a very Rare birth defect like cerebral palsy but not, thing is he is just as intelligent and normal minded as any other kid teen his age but he can not walk, talk or have full use of his right arm. but because of such he became enthralled with computers and robotics as well as programs, and no he dose not play wow or any other game those bore him. he hacks them and reprograms them <smiles)
so in respects to his interest i mad him this lil guy meet RedDrake13,

special features shown: left hand outfitted with a tactical net based server output system and hard light tech shield,
portable systems analysis server notebook.
right shoulder mounted beam cannon, left shoulder mountable radar/mini-missile launcher/flare gun/floodlight.
special features not shown :backback life support system outfitted with 4 retractable mechanical spider like appendages that can also transform into an energy hardlight tech flying system (ie wings made of energy) this idea came about because we both loved to watch invader zim and he like the same concept Zim had on his back.
now all i need to do is color him...son of a...

hmm yeah prolly, course he wanted to see it before i colored it so i did and he loved it has it up as his msn pic now and getting envy from his friends <laughs) so if anything he might even be mistaken for one now <laughs) oh well in any case as long as he likes it I'm happy. and yeah the things this kid can do scares me sometimes. but i guess i wouldn't have gotten my computer in such good shape without him and my new programs run so smoothly so i guess i have nothing to complain about.
lets see gots some more gifts to make up take care for now friend <hugs)

I very much like this piece, this is very impressive. You've paid a lot of attention to detailing, it's especially with all those tough-looking gadgets he's got on him. Love the expression, he looks like one of those cool smartasses you get in the movies. =D Cannot wait to see it colored!!
funny thing is i decided to make him a regular in my character lineup, and yeah hes gonna be a lil smart ass but he cant talk, only through use of his comp and sign language but since this is all in a picture format i was thinking making him one of those types who says a lot by saying nothing at all. also the only time he will open his maw is to ear and to breath fire.
thank you for the comment it took me a hell of a tough time doing those mechanical aspects, but i had a lot of fun doing it though. a color sketch should be around shortly.

So he's basically like one of those silent cartoon characters. So many things can be said in just a few small gestures. I really like that, it's got more creativity than the characters who are mute/unable to speak so they just spend five years writing everything down. It's boring. Yours takes actual action to get his words across and I like it a lot.
I can certainly tell, too, as I had pointed out a few times. P: Must've been that kind where you heave that big relieved sigh when it's all done.... but then you realize the next tormenting part arrives; the coloring. I know how upset you'll be if it doesn't turn out right, I won't jinx you with this one at all.

That's really well designed. All I can say is you may want to try making the lines a little straighter. Such as a scratching motion when you sketch the lines, it helps to balance them out.
I really do like the high-tech equipment design, it adds a lot of effect to give that character the extra OOMPH it needs.

yes that would have helped a lot, but i admit i was too stubborn to brake out my ruler and opted to do it all free hand, ugh i need to stop being as such otherwise what progress will i ever achieve?
other flaws i can at least leave to the fact the picture was too big for my scanner (11x 14- scanner 9x12) so some of the PS repairs got missed, i should work on that too.
no matter but i will say that the hardest part was the right arm and hand, it was a pain in the ass to get it the way i wanted, my god, but it was worth it.
