Well allow me to explain then.

First off it isn't rude to state an opinion.

My and only my opinion is that I find Angel Dragons annoying. Mostly because of my aversion to "squeaky" fursuiters but Angel Dragons In particular because OMG did you see a popufur is a closed species so it's a club CAN WE JOIN!?! More often then not when I run into a AD in a fursuit lounge they give off the aura of "I'm the cool kid and you go Fuck Off"(this includes the goddess of AD kind). More often then not when I talk to one I find they are just a ego trip in a suit who would wear a giraffe suit if it was popufur to do so(BREE!). They almost never seem to have a connection to the character, just the popularity.

When I met Graham I found someone who I got the sense that if Angel Dragons weren't a shortcut to popularity they'd still be one. It was refreshing. And never mind that When this picture was taken Graham had sat down to eat and had taken their head off to chow down. Graham gladly put themself back together for this picture and afterwords became a part of the conversation. I enjoyed the conversation and it's one of the reasons I'm going to go back to AC next year.

Now at least you know why I find *most* Angel Dragons annoying.

Dutch Angel dragons are an open species. Most of who you are refering to are little kids who don't understand the depth behind the beautiful dragons, all they see is something they like and want to be like. Yes, Graham is an older fan (like me) who truly understands the species and its background, it's really not anything like telephone herself is.

Yes kids can be annoying because they don't understand, often ripping off popular designs.
But if you actually went to the website, (dutchangeldragons.com), and joined the community you'd see the older fans are more loving then the fandom it's self because an Dutch Angel dragon is a guardian spirit, not a squeaky little kid.

People shouldn't hate or look down on kids because they don't truly understand yet.

funny rules about how many you are allowed, what they can look like, etc. doesn't sound like a "open species" to me...

That's because as I said the Dutch AD community is made up of mostly little kids. And they will stright up copy telephone' s design but in different colors. The muzzle ring has a back story, and its the one thing I myself find annoying about the fanbase. They throw a fit when they learn they can't have one like they NEED one. Instead of growing up and saying every species has some rules so respect them.

How many your allowed is because people have been known to own over 6 at a time. It clogs up the species when they won't get used, and takes away those designs for other people because even if they don't care about the dragon they defend rights to 20+ designs.
Keeps the community in balance if you have one or two that you love.

And what they look like is the part that pisses me off more then anything. Dutch AD are horse dragons, yet will get drawn more dog like, have short muzzles to copy telephone, and generally will look like anything BUT a horse.
If you read the part about ino you'd see horses have a deep meaning to her and the entire species is built around her horse that passed away.
