Finished inking and coloring a panel from the first page of Elevations as a bit of practice in shade in value. I wanted to try a different style (operative tried) as the comic series itself isn't planned to be in color.
Needless to say, I couldn't visualize proper values with pure B&W, and decided to see how things would look in color. Maybe if I picked a scene later in the series for practice the results would've been different. That said, I'm now torn whether or not to include color (which would in turn increase production time when such is precious).
Nothing emotional here, just a lazy husky sleeping in a closet as the morning sun catches up to him.

I like the business of this image, but I think some areas could be better highlighted to be more clear about where things are in terms of depth perception. The vividness of the sunlight and the reflections on the husky is neat, but I think a more orange-y colour would be better suited. It's still good though!
