£4200 all in, but I bought it almost as an investment because the Brabus ones are starting to appreciate in value, it will do 55mpg when you're not pushing so It's dead cheap to run. My Mx5 is a much cheaper car but only does 25mpg and the road tax is £265 per year. So it's pretty even between the two.
Its German built with a full safety cell so It's actually safer than most hatchbacks from the period, its just the weight difference between it and a SUV type car that would worry me in a collision. However if I bin it (christ forbid) on my own I'll at least be fine =)
SUV/truck ownership here is almost like firearm ownership here. Almost. Some buy them because they have "cred," they're both for manly-man sorts of things to do, plenty should really be spending the money elsewhere, some just don't know how to use them but have them anyway, they're more dangerous than alternatives, you shouldn't let young children operate them... Heh.
