I will never get another car without cruise control.

But I get annoyed at people who treat it like a Ronco Rotisserie. Set it and forget it.

Those people just cruise in the left lane, unaware of how they trap cars in the right lane behind trucks, causing them to come out of their cruise control in order to slow down and get behind them.

All they would have to do is simply speed up a bit. Watch how annoyed they get when you realize that you are going to get trapped, and pull into the left lane to get around the truck without touching your cruise control.

Fortunately I don't do that. :}

It's funny because it's all so painfully terribly true. :D

I concur with Haystack. Even on long, straight roads I never use my cruise control. One nice thing about having a car with a manual transmission is that you always know how fast you're going.

Of course, I choose to go about 20MPH+ above the speed limit on the expressway, but that's a different issue. ;)

Very much so! I loved borrowing my mom's car (with cruise control) to go on trips.

Cruise control may be fine for huge empty long straight highways, but it's not safe
whenever there's other cars around. I never use mine.

Fortunately mine is easy to override by pressing the pedals, or change my speed by pressing the COAST or ACCEL buttons.
