Specimen: "Man Thing"
World of Origin: Earth 616
Man-Thing is a large, slow-moving, empathic, humanoid creature living in the Florida Everglades near the Seminole reservation and the town of Citrusville. Originally Dr. Ted Sallis a researcher working on a form of the "super-soldier serum", Dr. Sallis injected his prototype serum into himself in order to keep it out of the hands of A.I.M just prior to crashing his car into an area of the Florida Everglades connected through mystic forces to an arcane conflux connected myriad realities to Earth 616. Empathic in nature but non-sentient Man Thing is drawn to and feeds on emotion, except for negative emotions such as greed, hatred, anger and most especially fear. Fear causes its body to produce a corrosive fluid that ignites when it comes into contact with flesh.

I've heard that Marvel has dug Man-thing out of mothballs recently for another run in the mainstream of their universe. *wades into the swamp waters with the quag-beast* I hope so. Some called it a Swamp Thing rip off. Maybe that's true but I still liked the creature design and the comics were political enough to fucking matter. It'd be nice to see Marvel have Ovs enough to pop off like that again these days...
