Specimen: Cactuar
World of Origin: Ivalice
A highly mobile form of saguaro cactus, the cactuar runs across the desert at high speeds, in search of water and nutrients. Even when standing in one place in order to absorb water and food, it continues to "dance" in place in order to provide momentum for the systolic pumps throughout its body necessary to produce the high level of sugars it needs. The cactuar is also capable using that same system of pumps to expel thousands of tiny "needles" from its thick skin in a highly accurate manner.
