This is the printed version of the ball jointed pony that I've been working on modeling. It is quite poseable, and has 25 points of articulation, with a total of 33 parts. I made Unicorn, Pegasus, and Earth Pony versions, as well, but the Alicorn was the most useful one to print, to test both the fitting of both the wings and horn. Perhaps, one of these days, I'll paint it, and design some alternate pieces, like different styles of manes and tails. I went with a short, generic mane on this one, because my main goal was to make all the joints work.
I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. I've even thought of making a bunch of these, setting up a con booth, and painting ponies for people.
I might make the model available on Shapeways, for other people to purchase and assemble, too.
One of the things I'm currently working on is a poseable ball jointed dragon. Since I am new to 3d modeling and printing, I thought I'd try to learn the process, with a much simpler Pony. The dragon model will be more challenging...
My Little Pony is © Hasbro, of course.

The dragon is much more challenging... I'm going to try some test prints of the head and neck soon.
I'm going to try printing it in pieces, so I can consider parts of the model to be complete.
That provides tension in the joints, and lets it actually hold a pose.
It's not entirely stable without the mane, but it does fill things in nicely.
This is around 4.5 in tall, or so. Just over 10 cm.
It's a little smaller than the vinyl collectables.
I'll have to figure out a good way to sell some. I could make the model available on Shapeways, but you would need to assemble it...
Maybe I'll print out a few, and try to get an artist table at a con, some time.
I even made some fanart and did some backgrounds and animation on that Double Rainboom thing.
u helped with that fan made episode? O:
I made several of the forest backgrounds, like when Rainbow Dash is on a hill, or when Twilight is walking through the forest, after Rinbow Dash crashes through Spacetime. I made a few more backgrounds, too... and animated Lyra, BonBon, and Big Macintosh in one of the shots of the Ponyville aftermath.
It was a lot of fun to work on. :)
How get? D:
(i.e. how do I throw money at you)
I'll try to upload this design, so it's publicly available on Shapeways.
I was going to do that, but got distracted.
I love what you have here, it makes me whant to dive into it again since it's so much fun!
It really is fun, but I know I had to go through several prints before I had one that worked right. :P
It can be frustrating sometimes, too, but it's satisfying to finish things, too.
I've been thinking of printing more, once I get a dragon model going, that I've been working on.
I'm hoping to do more with printing soon. :3
It's good to know that you're interested in them!
