K so I'm gonna geek out for a bit.
So on the day Tropical Storm Bill was expected to make landfall, it was expected to hit Port Lavaca. However when I checked KCRP (The local NWS Doppler Radar), instead of the North/Northwest track it was expected to take, I noticed the center of the storm has cut directly west towards Refugio. Right then, as I got out of class, I rushed north. By the time I reached the city of Refugio, The storm started hooking NNE towards the San Antonio Bay. After eating some Whataburger, I rushed over there to catch the center of this storm making landfall on the bay from Austwell, TX.
Here is a upward wide-angle shot of the eye as it finally drifted above me along with two storm chasers from Victoria, and a Refugio county precinct 4 city worker.

The storm all in all was pretty weak for a TS as it made landfall. NWS reports that the worst of its center spent it's energy on Matagorda Island. By the time I got there, most of it (I was going through it's SW quadrant) was very low Precipitation (not that much rain). the most of it was along the eyewall with some gusts. You'll notice there's some cloud clutter in the center. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to see this. Bill managed to form a loosely defined eye as it made its final landfall. Tells me it was trying to strengthen. Of course there wasn't enough time. Having an eye does NOT make it a Hurricane.
