Hey! Mumford and Sons is like my favourite band ever and I've been listening to their new album non stop since it came out so I figured I'd do another cover!
I forgot the chords and messed it up a little at the end but this was all one-shot and I was already on my seventh try to this is as good as it gets!
I hope you like it :D

Oh, its no problem. I've just started trying to teach myself the past couple of weeks though I kind of wince whenever I hear myself recorded so it's a slow process. Just out of curiosity are you self taught? I really dont want to waste my time if I like really need some kind of singing lessons.
I also couldn't help but notice you live in the north east(?) what a coincidence!

Yeah dude, I'm totally self taught! The first year was super rough for learning the guitar and learning how to control my voice but it all just sort of happened naturally. I recorded my self singing and playing and over time I've just sort of improved, but I'm still not near the level I'd like to be.
I've never had singing lessons but if you can afford them then take them man, you can't always learn everything by yourself!
Yeah, I'm in Middlesbrough! :D
Nice to see another British fur on here, especially a northerner :p

Nice singing again. I like how it flows and how warm it sounds. Btw, I'm curious what your recording setup was here. Did you record the vocals seperately?
The thing that really distrurbs me is (silently assuming you played with the capo in the 4th) that you let the open low E string (Ab) ring in the open Eb7-chords (open B7 when shifted down 4 frets). You should either mute it with your thumb or the tip of your middle finger. It's the same thing with my co-guitarist and the open-D chord. These open strings can ruin the sound of a chord. I'm always telling him to mute the low E-string... or not to pluck it in his arpeggios.^^
Also you should try to get the Em-barre-chord at the end of the chorus ringing correctly. I know these barre-chords up the neck need alot of strength on the acoustic guitar, but this chord is kindof the spice of the chorus.
I did like the dynamics you brought in. They really add to the overall performance. Allthough I personally would have loosened up the stums towards the end of the chorus a bit more - around the change from E to Em, when your voice also turns softer.

Thanks a lot for the advice dude! I actually recorded this as just one full take with the guitar and vocals on the same track because I just finished mixing a song today and I really couldn't be bothered doing anything fancy :p
Yeah, I've been playing guitar for like 4 years but all I know is learned from the internet so I make a tonne of mistakes haha
I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway!
