This particular Herbert Hoover (there have been several) was a tow boat on the Mississippi. It was launched in 1931, probably in Dubuque Iowa, and was the largest disel tow boat at the time.
This image is a frame from a roll of 35mm nitrate film I was just given. I've been trying to date it. Near as I can tell, its the original camera roll. The roll shows a bunch of other tow boats, and the Herbert Hoover's launching.

Its not 35mm still, its 35mm motion. I'll post a link to a video file after I do the color correction.
Its perforated with B&H perfs, four perfs per frame, it looks like modern film except that there is no soundtrack, its full frame. Modern motion camera stock still uses B&H perfs, but projection film is Kodak perfs. Modern still film is also Kodak perfs.
B&H perfs are round with a flat top/bottom (so the sides bow out). Kodak perfs are square, with rounded corners.
