Ages ago I said I would paint my then newly designed company logo on my truck. Originally it was going to be on the toolbox, but the paint on the hood was peeling so badly I had to take this chance to do something about it.
At this point, painted the hood black and applied masking tape to cut out the saw blade and apply the hot rod red paint. To cut it out, I simply trace the drawing with a razor blade. The blade will also cut through the paint underneath, which would normally cause a problem with hiding the cut lines, but since the cut line is also the border for the next layer of paint it won't show up as a deep scratch.
I'll explain the entire process with materials used in the final post.
