For those that have not heard yet, Satoru Iwata, President and CEO of Nintendo, passed away due to bile duct cancer. This is just a little tribute I decided to do. I feel it's fitting to put here what I posted on Facebook yesterday a few hours after finding out
I really can't put into words what I feel
Mr. Iwata, all I can say .....is thank you
You were the face of Nintendo, you've done so much for the company, and gaming in general. Coding Earthbound from the ground up, creating the compression tools to allow Pokemon Gold and Silver to have 2 regions, creating all these games that certainly will stand the test of time. Some of your decisions, all be it, were odd, but you still worked with a smile, you accepted criticism both good and bad, hell you even took a pay cut to keep people from being played off and to help Nintendo out when things were going sour about a year or so ago. It's sad that the last thing you did was apologize to us, your fans about Nintendo's e3 this year.
This is a sad day indeed. Your game may be over, but at least you can be at ease in that great big castle I'm the sky.
