It took me a year of teaching myself how to use the program before I started making good tracks. I then picked up different tricks and tips from many books. All together, the level I am at right now has taken me 3 years.
Teaching you the basics of how the program works doesn't take that long. Maybe a week. Teaching you how to write a specific genre of music takes much longer since you need to know how all of the instruments work, the structure of it, etc.
I can recommend you a couple of books:
The FL Studio Bible - All you need to know about FL Studio. It can teach you everything about how the program works.
The Dance Music Manual - Teaches you the basics of different genres of music including the structure, melody writing, and mixing.

Hm, the first book would be a good one to take for my intentions. Question only is, how much it will cost (totally no personal money right now) and also how I might get it here, since we live on different sides of the earth. But I guess the local book dealing companies might get it ordered, since we have Germany's biggest ones in my citiy here. ^___^
Question also is: Are all those versions very similar or are there big differences? Because I have no idea yet which version of FL studio I should use. Your opinion?

if you want to start producing seriously, get the XXL version of FL Studio. I also recommend the download version from flstudio.com becuase every update to the next version of FL Studio is free if you download it. You can also order the book from flstudio.com...I think it's around $30 for the book (canadian). The program itself, the XXL version is about $400.
Rather expensive, but well... Professional software, ay =D Once I get a new job (and I am in the preperations for some idea which surely will bring me one) I will go get me the software and the book.
Personally, I have several FL studio versions on my computer already, which someone loaded me down, but the software I am serious about I wanna have the legal way =D
