This fellow was the fifth and final of my five gryphon designs. Quarzu here is the leader of the Si'gane' tribe, a forest dwelling group of druid/summoner gryphons that prefer solitude over society. Quarzu is the oldest of the five gryphon chiefs and can boast of having seen over 600 summers. Well past his natural age limits Quarzu survives by drawing upon the life force of the forest he calls home which has left him tethered to it and unable to leave without having his age catch up to him. He will remain forever young so long as he doesn't stray beyond the boundaries of his home.

Quarzu is a very calm, wise, and soft spoken gryphon that often prefers simply sitting and gazing up at the leaves as the wind stirs through them while listening to birds sing amidst their branches. He leads his people with a firm but benevolent hand, guiding them along a harmonious path with their forest and teaching them the ancient traditions the Si'gane' have held to for generations. His people spend their time tending the land, nurturing plants, and mending wounded animals, never taking more than they need to survive. Although brightly colored the Si'gane are rarely seen in their forest unless they wish to be and use their magic to conceal their presence whenever anyone should trespass upon their domain. Wishing to always preserve life in all its forms they never harm those who would encroach upon their home and instead use their command of the woods and its creatures to confuse and redirect unwelcome guests back to the edges of the forest as many times as it takes to make them abandon their lands.
