So
teaselbone is one of those artists I've been wanting to commission for years and I was insanely lucky to win a raffle slot for a full-colour work.
(Seriously, there were 3 slots and at least 25 contenders - I was so sure I wasn't going to get it I put my name down even though I had no money in my paypal account and apologised profusely when I explained it would take a couple of days for the money to arrive in my account before I could pay)
Unsurprisingly, he's done an outstanding job - I mean, look at that rubble fly!
Just awesome.

If you're going to fave this work, fave it there because it's really all his talent on display here.
I've always felt a little disconnected from the whole "50-foot-whatever destroys city" trope, probably because I live in a small city where there are basically no buildings with more than 10 storeys so any destruction you would see would be vaguely disappointing.
(Actually, that's a great image in itself, a giant monster being miffed at finding itself in a town where there's no good buildings to destroy (I'm sure it's been done)).
Well, that's not entirely true, there are some great buildings that could be destroyed in Canberra but they're mostly significant public buildings so depicting them being destroyed would probably put me on some kind of watch list by one of our national security agencies :P
The exception to all that is Black Mountain Tower which overlooks the city and just begs to be destroyed by a rampaging kaiju.
I have to admit this is not entirely an original idea - the classic 70's children's book The Monster that Ate Canberra beat me to the punch (wait, is that a pun?) by having its monster actually eat the tower.
So I suppose this is more of a homage to that than anything else.
(And again the lack of anything for a monster to actually do in Canberra)
Of course Theta's not much of a rampaging monster so this is pretty much how things would go down if he ever did find himself 500 feet tall.
I just love the idea of a monster doing most of its damage by trying to avoid destroying things (again, I know this isn't original, I just like the idea) and being really apologetic about it.
He'll definitely try to stick around to fix things, but I wouldn't bet that things won't get worse because if it.
Enjoy!

MORE MACROS LIKE THIS PLEASE!! 8D Finally someone else who would profusely apologise for damages caused by accident *hugs* ^^
Love that title by the way, made me laugh when combined with this picture :)
Growing up outside of Melbourne I never read that particular kids book but I recognise the art style, I had a dinosaur book written (or illustrated rather) by that exact same guy. Something about an Ankleosaur with bad plumbing. Small world huh? :3 Come visit, just don't break anything here, I like Eureka Tower the way it is!

I have to confess that I haven't listened to much BBNG - the radio station I listen to (god I'm old fashioned) has started spruiking them which is why it popped into my head when thinking of a title for this. I checked out some of their youtube videos before posting this and they're definitely on my 'to listen' list.
