I have literally done exactly this to resurrect a computer.

Okay the only problem was a fan wasn't spinning, but I still used WD-40 to fix up the bearing.

Yes I am. A graduate student working on his Masters in Mechanical Engineering.

The furry community attracts a wide range of professions. It would only make sense for the AB/DL side to....eh, "benefit" from our presence. X3

Statics are nice, but even civils get to play with the moving stuff. You've got resonance frequencies, vibrations, wind compensation....

The Engineering School at Monash (my university) has a chunk of the Westgate Bridge out the front of their building to remind their students of what can happen when engineers make mistakes.

Look up 'Westgate Bridge Disaster'.

This is basically me in a nutshell. Took one year of introductory engineering? Totally qualified to fix anything and everything.

(And when you can't actually fix it, always, ALWAYS, blame it on inadequate tools!)
