Tetius 'Lazuli' Luukh, my roleplay character from Forgotten Realms roleplay server. I've chosen Temperance tarot card for her.

Well… I guess that the most tragic character I have now is Lazuli, my DnD character. Her backstory became more tragic than I expected because of my DMs who were assholes and decided to give her some angst and drama XD She is tiefling (daughter of half-gelugon and Mulani woman) born in Red Wizard’s family. She was expected to be a wizard as her father with unique abilites (it was Ahti’s, her grandfather’s, doing that Lazuli’s parents got together) but it quickly came out that she is a sorceress, who are despised in Thay among the Red Wizards. After that Ahti started tattooing her back with some magic tattoos, pretty common in Thay. Lazuli became her grandfather’s favourite servant, as she was obedient to his will and she tried to do everything to please her master. She had the mind of a slave and she thought that it’s the fate she has to accept (as gelugons are the perfect servants among devils and as her patron, Jergal, teaches). Later on she learned that she was just a trade card for her grandfather, who made her a living experiment for his friend, a necromancer. Pushed by her father (who came out to be more powerfull and more evil than she thought, and who happened to destroy every of her beliefs that maybe kindness and love mean something), she decided to fight for herself and don't become a mindless doll. That caused her grandfather to beat the everloving shit out of her and place her in the prison, but thanks to her father she got released. Now she tries to get her freedom and show all Red Wizards that she is better than they are.

Lazuli is very distant, she doesn’t talk too much and resembles gelugons in many ways. She is fatalistic and shows no emotions as she was trained to hide them. Calmly polite to strangers, she can become a monster when attacked or angered (she killed her rival in front of everyone when she couldn’t stand her mocking anymore). I wanted to play a character who tries to fight the monster inside her, and Lazuli is definitely a tormented soul if it comes to that. She doesn’t have to be good. She has to kill the hatred inside her, but that’s the hardest part, as the hate, evil, brutality is a part of her nature as a tiefling. She tries so hard to calm down her emotions because she knows that they might be also very dangerous, as she is a sorceress and her magic comes from emotions. The important part of her are the chains she wears. Altrough she was part of Red Wizard’s family, what makes her kind of noblewoman, she was a slave (not oficially of course). She believed she has to accept her fate, be blindly obedient to Ahti and maybe she will be free someday, just like gelugons are rewarded for perfect service. She even bound her body under her clothes because of that. She knew no other thing than chains. And then, she started to free herself, thanks to few people who showed her kindness.
