They should have picked this but they were probably too afraid of all the furry hype that comes with it (their own fault for all the hot females they've made in various starfox/sonic/etc games)!

Aww should have. The best pics I've seen drawn for the competition were terrible in comparison.

Why would they be afraid of what people do when others do the very same thing to all the other girls they've made?

good point! just not as commonly standing out as an issue since most of their males by default aren't very manly as the art that comes out of this fandom of them.

namely, characters like fox and falco show no signs of actually having male anatomy what so ever, they're male by voice and personality only. lacking breasts or curvy hips doesn't make a person male simply because they don't look female, after all. hell, sonic is practically just a stick figure. it's mostly the fandom that makes them look so sexy. XD

but it's true that they don't give either males or females of the furry persuasion much attention these days as they should. they seem to be only focusing on mario and zelda and not much else. in fact most art for the competition that had any noteworthy attention was zelda based (namely link). there was a very good one I saw though that had him and midna with him in wolf form and her on his back, so I guess that counts for something.
