Earthworm Jim - Andy Asteroids? VRC6 mix
“Look! They’re meatballs!”
Perhaps one of the goofiest tracks from EWJ was the one for Andy Asteroids.
Zooming through a tunnel while listening to some banjos playing? Tommy, you’re a mad genius!
This was the most difficult song cover I’ve made to this date!
I’d like to give a special thank you to
bestthe. He gave me encouragement when I was about to give up. Thanks for the extra push I needed!
I think I may have messed up slightly on a few points, but I got close enough to be happy with my work.
Enjoy the song, or EAT DIRT!! *Fires his laser gun at everyone in the vicinity*

Calling anything 'goofy' in Earthworm Jim is up against some pretty stiff competition - and I can definitely appreciate how difficult this would have been to reconstruct (was it done by ear?) but it sounds pretty much exactly how I remember it! Especially that part with the random noises in the middle...
Tommy Tallarico and Dave Perry together... the result is clearly dangerous.

Certainly one of those moments in a game where I can never get so accustomed to it that my heart rate doesn't increase each time I play it.
In any case, an impressive cover. I usually don't care much for 8-bit renditions and the like, but it's fantastically good. The only thing that was missing was the end victory music. I was really looking forward to hearing that

Thanks! ^w^
I did have a few problems, but the VRC6 gave me a little help.
The 2A03 chip built into the NES gives 2 square channels, 1 triangle, 1 noise, and 1 DPCM.
The Konami VRC6 that was used in the Japanese version of Castlevania III adds 2 pulse square channels, and 1 sawtooth.
Without those extra channels this would’ve been a lot harder, but I wanted the cover to be as true to the original as possible while still providing that old school NES feel.
