Hector prefers to protect his front side, much like his mane does for his neck in the arena. Since Hector looked up to his father in the ring, he had armor crafted for him that reminded him of his father.

~Born to a colosseum champion, Hector was expected to live up to his father's legacy in the arena. Taught to fight at a young age, he was expected to fight for his life all the time and he would die in the arena, that was until he heard about the Empires. The other cats would tell rumors of feral cats living free from humans and that they were also escapees from the Colosseum. As Hector grew in size and strength, he was chosen to fight against his father in the arena resulting in the scars across his face and the death of his father; Hector became the new champion. During his death, his father told Hector to watch over his mother. Hector's mother was then taken to become a breeder, since she had birthed such a strong cub. Another lion had forced her to carry his cubs and when they were born, Hector did as he promised and helped his mother take care of them. His younger brother was a strong cub too, and he went through the rigorous training that Hector once had to endure; but was killed in the arena. His younger sister was frail though and she was born a year later, and during this time Hector had refused to fight. He kept his title as champion but he would refuse to fight and his owner had to drag him out of his cage to fight.
~Instead of being killed, a noble bought him and he was given a life of luxury(he even had a gem studded collar). At first, Hector did not want to leave his sister. She was so young and she was without a mother. Hector's mother died during the birthing of the next few cubs after his little sister, but those cubs never made it. Once taken to the noble's home, he thought it was heaven on Earth. No more fighting, his friends no longer died in front of his eyes, and he was treated with care instead of cruelty. Many of the females there liked him because of the fact that he was very gentle with their cubs. The noble was a breeder for the colosseum and wanted Hector to be one of the males to breed strong cubs. Hector never wanted to though and lucky for him the noble didn't force it to happen. He played with the other cubs and if they fell asleep on him he would keep them warm during the winters. After a while, he realized that this was not the life he wanted. Even though Hector had lived with in this luxury, he wanted something more. And he remembered the stories of the Empires he heard rumors about. One though, stuck out to him: the Air Empire. It was the closest to his home and he wanted to see if this rumor was true. The other felines began to think that he was crazy and made him an outsider, hence his shy nature now. When given the chance, he fled his owner and searched for the Empires he had heard about. In his mind, he wanted to find this group, but he had no idea what to expect from this new life he would be jumping into.
~Hector forgot briefly about the dangers of escaping. He remembered the Bounty Hunters that would come after him and he would fight if necessary, but the price for him was not as great as he had thought. He entered the territory of the Air Empire and was found by a patrol. They took him to their camp and waited to see what he was capable of during a sparing match. Hector showed off his abilities and was accepted into the Empire.
With the Empires:
~Hector trained with a few other cats in the Empire to get his skills up and learn their ways quickly as a new Gladiator. Being alone with no friends yet, he hung out with the cubs a lot and made little friends out of them. The first cat he got to know a little was Roxana, a clouded leopard gladiator. They hunted for the Empire and Hector got used to the territory from that.
~It seemed to be a short time before Hector's first Gathering. His name was announced during the Gathering by Avita as well as other cats who joined the Empire with him and he wanted to become a great and valuable Gladiator for his Empire. He met Titus again and got to know him more as he and Tiberius hung out with the liger during a light rainy day. The three became friends and Hector began to feel more comfortable around the rest of the Empire.
~The lion was almost always seen hanging around the cubs and watching over them to let their caretakers rest some, hunting, training, or relaxing some until his second Gathering in August. The cub he had started taking a liking to, whom was the son of Valon and Avita, both of them were/are leaders of Air Empire at one point in their lives, and Avita had chosen the large lion to become the mentor to her son, Nero. Shocked and honored, Hector vowed to try to be the best mentor he could be to the young serval.
~After training with his apprentice began, Hector was chosen to go on a patrol around the Moonlight Colosseum for any Bounty Hunter activity. Led by Avita, the group did the patrol and was ambushed by many Bounty Hunters and were overwhelmed. A few cats escaped but most were captured, including Hector. Now captured, Hector plans to escape with his leader, as well as the other cats that were captured as well.
