One of those random pictures that come to you when you're trying to draw somthing else.
Schism and Jigsaw appear to be two of my more popular characters. Or at least, pictures with them in always seem to get a lot of faves (what does that say about you lot? WE LOVE PAIN!!! :p ), so I thought I'd put them both in one picture, and the rest just came pretty easily.
I liked the idea that Schism would be the only one who would understand Jigsaw's pain. I also like drawing Schism showing some sort of emotion every so often. Schism is really just a normal rat, but he is unable to see or communicate, and has virtually no facial expressions, so he comes off as this sort of emotionless robot.
I really want to illustrate more of Schism eventually, particularly his life prior to his lab tortures.
As for Jigsaw, there is a tendency to edge a little too close to making him a bit.....emo? I don't want to go down that path. I find that sort of blatant, in-your-face sadness/pain a bit tacky, particularly for his character as he's so stoic and certainly never feels sorry for himself. In fact, I wondered if I might have gone a bit out of character for him even here and debated not finishing it as a result. He looked too sad initially, and it just wasn't right. I had to harden his eyes a bit, loose the kicked puppy look, and make him look more like rats really look when they're in pain rather, which is pretty subtle.
Im a huge fan of subtlety.
Im one of those annoying bitches who thinks Jigsaw wasn't a bad person at all. I've had some ridiculously heated arguments over that. Its ludicrous.
I think the main thing I wanted to try and do here is leave people wondering whether he's hating this attention, or eternally grateful for it.

I really like this actually. The hint of affection in an otherwise dark picture. as for the "is he hating it or eternally grateful"? I'd like to say a bit of both. Personally I think he'd dislike the intrusion, and the almost suddenness of it (I doubt Schism would be able to give him much warning) and maybe on the surface he might hate it, or think he does. But deep down somewhere, I think he'd appreciate the gesture even so, that little bit of random affection. of course, those are just my thoughts on it, could be way off base.
