Nearly missed it since it was buried in the consist and next to a regular NS engine, but I managed to catch it in the swamp. The subroadbed for the new mainline is visible just below the causeway.

Wow, if those engines are marked PC those are really old. My Dad used to work for them. He started on the Big 4, then PC, then finally retired from Conrail. Total 43 years as a car inspector and repair track in his earlier years.

Not quite, lol. The third engine is one of NS' Hertitage units; they painted up a bunch of new GEVOs and SD70ACes in older railroads' schemes a few years back.

I didn't know that they were doing such things. I need you or somebody to teach me locomotive identification. Nice to see that they are doing a retro paint scheme on some of their engines. I think that is cool.

Yeah! I wish more railroads would do heritage stuff.

What exactly do you need to know about locomotive identification? I'm not sure I can be of much help.
