Reban actually came to this world in search of a challenge, but found some fairly meager resistance. But, rather than letting himself get disappointed he decided to turn this into a more fun outing, destroying a few cities while crushing and devouring the locals. He may not have found a good challenge, but a belly full of humans is never a bad thing for him.
