Lucario had always been a little on the small side. Previously being only a few inches above three feet, he was shorter than almost all members of his species, and in fact, every other Lucario he had ever met was taller than him, even the females. He didn't know why, and while he wondered if, perhaps, it was because he evolved too early, or because he didn't eat enough as a Riolu, Lucario knew why didn't really matter. In the end, he was small, and that was that. That fact frustrated him greatly, as his small size, and slender build, was a big disadvantage when it came to fighting. The other Lucarios had little difficulty besting him in tests of combat and the few times Lucario had won victories, it was by a fluke or some other lucky break. After two particular fights- one where Lucario had lasted only seconds against a large male seemingly twice his size (in reality, Lucario was about two thirds his height), and another, where a female only slightly larger than him was able to end the fight with just one well-aimed kick to Lucario's face, Lucario decided to give up entirely with fighting. Instead, he learned to be stealthy. "Why fight if you can avoid being seen, or heard, in the first place?" He had thought.
But, Lucario's stealth skills still had a way to go, as his current situation showed.
"You okay, little buddy?" Lyle asked, smiling.
Lucario whined. He had been hanging from Lyle's necklace for almost an hour, and his little arms were really starting to feel tired. The wolf chuckled.
During Lucario's 'ride', the pokémon overheard his new master, Lyle, and Scale, the wolf's friend, talking about various things. Most discussions meant nothing to Lucario, as he was not familiar with the things they discussed, however he understood when their talks turned to the subject of him. Lyle, it seemed, had plans for Lucario beyond keeping him as a pet- The wolf had mentioned 'nomming' him, whatever that meant, and had discussed with Scale about shrinking Lucario to an even smaller size, so he could be placed in a pendant and worn around the wolf's neck. Lucario wasn't looking forward to being worn like a living piece of jewelry, but then again, that was practically the same as his current situation.
Lucario huffed and tightened his grip on Lyle's necklace. His paws were so tired now. The pokémon began to wonder how much longer he would be able to hold on. But then, he heard Lyle's voice.
"Your little paws are tired, huh?"
Lucario could only whine in response, knowing the wolf wouldn't understand a word of pokémon dialect. Just a moment later, Lucario felt something under him. A soft, furry surface touched his footpaws and lifted up, moving to cradle his tiny form. Finally, Lucario let go of the necklace and lay back into Lyle's palm, sighing deeply.
"Looks like you need me to carry you the rest of the way. Well, I don't mind", Lyle said, smiling down.
Lucario closed his eyes and sighed once more, happy to have the chance to rest his arms. But just then, he felt the palm around him shifting. Opening his eyes, the jackal saw Lyle's huge fingers beginning to close around him, and gasped, looking up to his master.
"Gotta make sure to hold you tightly, buddy. Wouldn't want me to drop you, huh?"
Lucario squirmed instinctively as the fingers wrapped around him, but soon felt his movements become very difficult, as Lyle held him firmer. The huge, furry hand closed around Lucario completely, and the pokémon now saw nothing but black. He tried to move. For a second, he was able to wiggle but a gentle squeeze from Lyle soon saw Lucario held so firmly, that he couldn't move at all. The pokémon struggled for a moment, trying to push against his surroundings, but it was no use. Lyle's grip was firm, but gentle enough that Lucario felt no pain at all- Though a kind of discomfort soon appeared when Lucario realized how warm he was. Before Lucario had spent a single minute in the isolation of Lyle's paw, the pokémon felt the air become humid. He felt himself beginning to sweat. He exhaled deeply and closed his eyes, wondering how long he would be stuck this way. Where ever Lyle lived, hopefully it was close. Lucario had only seen glimpses of his surroundings while he was hanging from Lyle's necklace, and saw enough to know he had left the forest, and traveled through a grassy clearing before going through a slim mountain pass. Well, it would have been slim were he normal-size. To the merely inches-high Lucario, it was a gorge. At the time Lyle had taken him off his necklace, Lucario could see more trees in the surrounding area, so, he thought, they must now be in another forest.
Lucario could remember the last time he strayed from his home forest. Traveling for nearly two days with a small group of other Lucarios, and also a Zangoose, Lucario's little group had moved east, out of the vast forest and toward a small settlement of civilized creatures they had learned about via rumors told by other pokémon. This settlement, they were told, offered much in the way of food to steal, if, of course, one could avoid being seen by the residents. The group of pokémon eventually found the town, and were surprised to see it was not such a small settlement as they had imagined-having over a hundred buildings, most being houses. Hiding in the bushes on the town outskirts, they observed the resident creatures- mostly foxes and dogs, and a few other species, until they discovered the building in which the community stored their food. And, against Lucario and Zangoose's judgements, the rest of the group decided not to wait until night to raid the food storage. Hoping for a quick steal, and hungry from the journey, they tried breaking in during daylight, and each one ended up in a pokéball for their troubles. Under their new master's ownership, they wouldn't worry about going hungry, but they lost the freedom a wild pokémon would enjoy. Zangoose and Lucario, however, got the best of both worlds. After waiting patiently for the sun to disappear, they took advantage of a broken window from the earlier raid and silently invaded the storage building without causing noise or damage. The two pokémon each took a potato sack and filled them up with as much food as they could carry, mostly sugary treats they could never find in the wilderness, and left the settlement without incident. But, of course, Lucario knew stealing food wasn't always that easy. Especially now.
Lucario huffed. After what felt like an hour in Lyle's firm grip, Lucario was hot. His fur had become damp with moisture, and the pokémon was becoming sleepy from the heat. He could hear Lyle and Scale speaking, but their voices were muffled to Lucario while the wolf's paw closed him off to the outside world, and he couldn't make out their words, even with his sensitive ears. All he could do now was wait.
Fortunately, Lucario soon felt the hand holding him relax a little. Its grip on him suddenly became looser, and Lucario felt the hand moving up. The fingers pinning him moved away, letting the pokémon see light once more. Around him, he saw great, wooden walls. A ceiling. A window. He was in a house. Lying on the surface of Lyle's palm, Lucario gazed up to his new master.
"Hey, little buddy. Welcome home."

Indeed, he probably will be fine. After all being in Lyle's possession is far from the worst situation a micro could find themselves in- He is very responsible!
Lucario's past was fun to think about, and is something I was toying with since forever. You can be sure he will get more character development at a later date. And of course, we will see how his new life compares to living as a wild pokémon.
