protip: if you can't get the door to latch or a lock fails for any reason, prop up a chair under the doorknob. this will make the force required to open the door much greater depending on the angle, friction of the floor, and whether or not the chair is a piece of crap that will break under the pressure. Important note: doesn't work with office chairs, at least not the ones with the wheelio dealio on the bottom. Folding chairs are the ideal emergency padlock.
