*looks at the feet* Hmmm....*scritches chin* Well...I'd say somewhere smooth...but nothing like sand or snow (too soft. He might sink)...maybe a smooth grassland area...or maybe a man-made area, like asphalt/concrete...
It's actually amazing that some creatures that have very thin feet can actually take tough terraine. I mean, if you add just a bit more muscle into this one, he could be a rock climber and be able to walk on rocks, like a nimble lizard. :)
